Front impact
The knee airbag protects the driver's knees and femurs and Euro NCAP was satisfied that there were no structures in the dashboard that would present a hazard to the passenger's upper legs.

Child-protection
The passenger airbag could be deactivated to allow rear-facing childseats to be used in the front passenger seat. However, the information regarding the status of the airbag was not sufficiently clear to meet Euro NCAP's requirements. The presence of the ISOFIX anchorages in the rear outboard seats was not clearly indicated.

Pedestrian protection
The C6 is the first car to be awarded the maximum four stars for pedestrian protection. When the car senses that it is striking a pedestrian, a pop-up bonnet is activated, giving greater clearance between the bonnet surface and the rigid components of the engine.
