Thresholds for star ratings maintained the same as 2010. Star ratings from 2011 can be compared directly with those from 2010.

Thresholds are increased for Adult Occupant Protection, Child Occupant Protection and Pedestrian Protection for all star ratings. Additionally, a car must have a higher overall score than in 2009 to get to four and five stars. As star ratings from 2010 are more demanding than those from 2009 they should not be directly compared.
